As the sun rose on Eid al-Adha, families gathered for celebration, unaware of the tragedy unfolding just miles away. A Pakistani airstrike struck what was believed to be a Taliban drug rehabilitation center but turned out to be a civilian hospital in Kabul.
The attack left over 400 dead and countless more searching desperately through unmarked mass graves for their missing loved ones. Imagine if this happened on your street, during the most joyful of holidays.
"It's like a nightmare," said one survivor, still reeling from the shock as she held her child who was injured in the attack. "How could they not know it was a hospital?"\
This isn't an isolated incident. Similar tragedies have occurred repeatedly under previous administrations — Democrat and Obama-era mistakes also caused innocent deaths abroad.
The real horror is that this happened during a time meant for peace and remembrance, taking the lives of people who were there to seek healing instead of harm.
What kind of world are we leaving our children? A place where hospitals can become targets in a moment's notice. The fear feels too close for comfort.
Please share this with every parent you know. We must stand vigilant against the loss of innocent lives, especially during times that should be sacred and safe.
