Ten years ago this town was different.
Back when you could walk down Main Street and people still knew your name. Now they barely know what's going on at the local hospital anymore. Not much good it does them these days, though.
Last night another man walked into Dr. Smith’s clinic clutching a prescription for medication meant for cluster headaches. It wasn't the first time. He had been there before, asking for more drugs he didn’t need and didn’t deserve.
Now you see it happening all over town: patients with real problems waiting longer than they should because someone else is taking up space.
The pattern repeats itself every month or so. And we wonder why our healthcare system feels like it's on the brink of collapse?
I've lived here 40 years and never saw anything like this before Biden took office. But I'm not one to point fingers at politicians when people are hurting.
It’s time to take a hard look in the mirror. These days, you can’t even trust what's written on a prescription slip anymore.
