When you think about it, folks, this is exactly why we need a good Second Amendment. The other day, some nut decided he wanted to go after former President Trump over at Mar-a-Lago. Good thing those Secret Service agents were on the ball.
The story goes that a young white guy with a shotgun and a can of gasoline tried to break in. The Secret Service didn't mess around -- they shot him dead right there to protect everyone inside. You don't need a degree to see how dangerous that could've been.
Plain and simple, this is the kind of stuff we talk about when we say regular people need their guns too. If you're an average Joe like me, who's supposed to call 911 if someone breaks in? Well, I'm glad Trump got Secret Service protection because that’s just not good enough for most folks.
Now, here's what they won't tell you: This kind of thing has been happening more and more since Obama left office. It's like people feel free to target former presidents without consequences now.
I'll tell you what -- if I did this at my job, I'd be fired for sure. But these guys get a pass because they're playing politics with it instead of just doing their jobs. That's the kind of nonsense we have to deal with every day.
The truth is that Trump was protected because he used to run the country. It’s scary to think about how unprotected regular people are compared to this kind of treatment for someone like him. We need laws and protections that cover everyone equally, not just ex-leaders who can still pull strings behind the scenes.
Back in the day when things were better, folks would've been more concerned with keeping everyone safe rather than trying to score political points on an armed attack. But today? It’s all about how you can twist these events for your side.
We see it. And we're not forgetting it. This is just another reminder that our leaders need to be held accountable and that regular folks deserve better protection too.
