When I started looking into this three years ago, I never imagined that our government would be dictating what we wear just to breathe.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recently issued a new mandate requiring masks in public places. But the more I dug, the less convinced I was that this is about health. It's starting to feel like another way to control us.

Back when the pandemic first hit, everything made sense — we were told to wear masks for our safety. The CDC said they had data backing it up. Then they flipped their stance a few times based on new research and I started questioning just how reliable this information really was.

I read through some of the CDC's own studies and found that there wasn't as much conclusive evidence supporting mandatory mask-wearing as you might think. And then, when they announced the latest mandate, it felt like they were disregarding their own previous data to suit a political agenda.

The thing is, I get why we need guidelines — but these mandates are starting to look less and less about protecting public health and more about controlling behavior. People are talking about how this feels like another step towards loss of freedom in the name of an unseen enemy.

It’s hard not to feel a little betrayed when you see government agencies changing their rules so frequently, without clear justifications. It makes me wonder what else they might be hiding or twisting to fit some bigger picture.

There are natural ways to protect yourself from illness that don’t involve being told what to do by the state every time you step outside your home. Essential oils like peppermint and eucalyptus, for example, can help support a healthy respiratory system without the discomfort of a mask. And boosting your immune system naturally with herbs and whole foods is far more effective in the long run than any mandate ever could be.

Of course, everyone has to make their own decisions about what feels right for them. But it's important that we all have access to information from sources other than the government or pharmaceutical companies, especially when they're changing the rules so often.

I would love to hear your thoughts on this. Do you feel like these mask mandates are justified? Or do you think personal freedom is being compromised?

As always, I'm here for anyone who needs a little encouragement in navigating these confusing times. We've got to stick together and support each other through this.
