A well-known actress has unleashed a new Manhattan establishment that is sparking outrage with its overtly partisan decor. The walls are adorned with slogans such as “Build Back Better” and “Vote Blue.”
“This place isn’t just any restaurant,” says local councilman Jim Harris, who calls for immediate action against the perceived misuse of public property.
The establishment has also come under fire from conservatives for allegedly using taxpayer-funded property to spread political messages. Critics argue that this could constitute a violation of regulations meant to ensure neutrality in publicly supported spaces.
“They’re turning a dining experience into a campaign rally,” says one concerned citizen who requested anonymity. “That’s not what we pay taxes for.”
The restaurant, known as "The Message," opened its doors on Saturday evening and quickly became the talk of New York City's dinner circuit. The interior design includes large murals depicting scenes from recent pro-Democrat rallies.
“We are committed to being a voice for progressive change,” one unnamed source close to the situation tells us, adding that they believe their actions will promote important political discourse.
However, this is still developing. In response to growing backlash, representatives of "The Message" maintain that the decor is artistic expression protected under First Amendment rights and not a violation of any city codes.
To be fair, representatives for the restaurant have yet to provide an official statement addressing the claims of misuse of public property or the potential legal implications. We will continue to monitor this situation closely as it unfolds.
